Inspired Center Section

Introduction

It was the end of summer in 2024. I had been hiking and creating Photo Poems at a steady pace. I found my place with my art and was ready to try to create with some focus. I carefully planned out these hikes and was trying to address my inspiration with the art on this Gallery Page.

I see life and the world as being a universe with great ideas and celebration that brings a profound history and complexity to humanity and its reality. The cosmic expanse has a system that governs the unfolding world. I know that I am to small to understand these issues, but I believe that with a little humility and insight I can try to explore and celebrate them.

I also think that the world needs to be new and fertile, and I wanted these elements to be present in the art that I created. I wanted this art to provide a fresh look at the basics of life and beauty on this planet, and also show that we live in a beginning as well as a mature time. I hope that my efforts are original and positive.

Winter 2024-25 Gallery Section

Introduction

The winter is a slower time of year for hiking and creating art. The weather allows less good days for these efforts and the result is a season for being thoughtful and hiking when possible. Although it is a less productive time, I love this part of the year and enjoyed working with what I could accomplish outside. I wanted my art to have qualities that unfold like the environment was at rest, and also, to represent something that inspires with the powers of the great things that are present. Winter offers a time where you can be creative with all that you know, with the cold conjuring respectful vision of big things. It can be a time for slower actions and the pursuance of wisdom.

I tried to work on things that have a sort of timeless essence to them, but also, I tried to remain spontaneous and passionate with what I was doing with those days and weeks. It was an imaginative time for me and that the results in these pieces have ideas about the human existence and spirit in life as we have it. Some of the Photo Poems are almost playful, but I think they still were crafted in a manner that was respectful to the potentials of working in the winter. Life composes challenging and caring inspiration and I hope that these Photo Poems help you with your calling and place in this expansive world.
